| Zwolle is located in the eastern part of Holland in the province of Overijssel. Zwolle is also the capital city of Overijssel. Zwolle received its city rights in the year 1230 by the bishop of Utrecht. In the fifteenth century Zwolle became a member of the Hanseatic league and was an important cities in the east of The Netherlands.
